On our holiday in the US, we noticed everyone goes crazy for Halloween over there, much more so than in the UK, with pumpkin patches in every town and houses elaborately decorated, it reminded me of a recent edition of Country Living in which there was an article showing off some really pretty pumpkin and gourd carvings (I guess the book above is where the images/inspiration came from for the article) - I have hunted high and low to find the magazine but no joy - so I have searched the net for some alternatives to the traditional carved face design to inspire you for carving your pumpkin tonight.
(The very top image is from fakeplastictrees which looks pretty special, not sure I could manage this one. The middle two pumpkin images are from Shakin Style and the bottom image is from Daily Olive) these are nice simple and pretty alternative to putting a scary face in your window)
I saw these today on Etsy via Indie Parade (at least I think it was Indie Parade - I've been making up for lost time and spending hours trawling the net for cute stuff so my brain has gone into the future) and thought they were just lovely. They are made by LoucheLab - if only I had any money spare I'd get these for my living room
Back from our holidays and missing sunshine and Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie washed down with pints and huge Margaritas! Sad to be home after having such a wonderful break and although we went on holiday with the assumption that San Francisco would be our favorite place on the trip, Texas outshone San Francisco for us. We loved Austin so much that since I got back I cant stop looking for houses and jobs there ... Lots of cool bars, shops, friendly people, great food, a laid back atmosphere and lots and lots of sunshine - what more could a girl want!
Bettyjoy and co. are off on our jollies to the grand ol' US of A to California and then Texas for a couple of weeks so there won't be any posting whilst we are away. We will be busy having fun at the Broken Spoke (pic above from Spiffytumbleweed on flickr) amongst other things. Hopefully we will have lots of fun pics to show you on our return (I have a feeling a lot of them might be of food like this and this). I this I may come back virtually unrecognisable due to a significant weight gain as I am planning to make the most of the amazing food as possible).
