Trending: Pom poms

Traditionally, pom-poms were simple creations made by children but they seem to be having a bit of a grown-up renaissance at the moment.  Pom-poms are being turned into all manner of homewares and used to decorate clothing and accessories and have recently been seen on the catwalk too.  Join the trend by adding these fluffy delights to scarves and blankets, turn them into garlands, poufs or necklaces and even make chandeliers from them.  Have you jumped onto the pom-pom train yet?

Tara Badcock

(this one is the front panel of a wedding dress that Tara designed for a friend!)

Wow! This lady's work is absolutely stunning! Tara Badcock, creator of Paris Tasmania resided in Paris for 3 years before returning to Tasmania. She creates her own range of homewares, fashion and textile wares using fabric manipulation and embroidery techniques. I am absolutely in love with the wedding dress embroidery she created for a friend!! There are literally hundreds of amazing images of Tara's work on her flickr site. Go check it out!

C'est Belle

..and Boo.  Mandy Sutcliffe's beautiful illustrations take the form of many creations and go under the name Belle and Boo.  I really love the new cushions which I found via Sweet Memories the other day.

Elizabeth Demos - @ home

During my regular read of Decor8 blog I came across this absolutely wonderful moodboard creation by Elizabeth Demos. I was struck by the wonderful color combinations and use of the rustic old frame.  Elizabeth has recently opened an event planning business on top of an already very successful and wonderful looking looking vintage home store in Savannah.  Shops like @home make me wish I lived in America!  When I went to America last year I visited a few thrift stores and antiques/vintage places in Texas and they are well and truly heads and shoulders above our UK shops - there just seems to be so much quality vintage homewares/fashions etc on offer over there. Luxeville

Luxeville is home to these lovely offerings - I'm especially fond of the cashmere blankets - that candy pink polka dot version is just devine! 

Teeny Tiny Houses

I am totally in love with little prefab houses and could easily devote a whole new blog to them if I had time! These ones are really cute which i found on Small House Style (top pic) they are made in Texas (I know, everything from Texas is supposed to be HUGE, right!) by Discovery Architectural Antiques who have started up a new project called Tiny Texas Houses and are made from old vintage and antique woods which are salvaged and turned into these lovely teeny weeny houses. Tumbleweed Houses (bottom pic) are another maker of these wonderful tiny houses - check out their range of different sized properties. Seeing as property prices just make me feel sick at the moment, maybe this is the way forward.

Jam Tart

I found Jam Tart a while ago. All items feature seaside british holiday type themes with lovely hand-drawn images.  They have a wide range of homewares like these ones.
